Kent was quite busy recently. Two days ago he had shivering and fever. He needed more rest, so this continued on for a few more days.

Monday is our day off and it’s finally here. The kids looked forward to this day to play with dad. But dad went to help Uncle Chihung to move stuffs to his new apartment. They thought dad will play with them when he comes back home. But dad didn’t feel well. After a quick shower, he hid himself under the blanket.

The kids looked disappointed. I promised them to take them out for a bicycle ride next day. I also promised them to prepare dumplings as tonight’s dinner.

After Kent woke up a few hours later, he felt a little better. He asked the kids to read him a story. The kids took turn prayed for his health and asked Jesus to heal him. Then they took turn to read a story for dad.

Darlene chose an English story book titled, “When I Get Sick.” Because Angeline was there listening, so she was able to read the same book to dad in Chinese... using its illustrations. Angeline got it all right! Later she read another book to dad. She made it up as she turn the pages.

After Darlene left the room, Angeline laid down next to dad. She held her head up with both hands. She looked intently into dad. Dad asked why. She replied, “I want to be with you.”

After story time and dumplings, they are no longer disappointed!
