We thought we have found a place to live in Hong Kong. The very next day we found out that the landlord had already found a tenant. We had to search for another apartment all over again.



We spent the whole day under the scorching heat as we walked to visit different apartment units. Most of its rental fee is very high. Most of them are dirty and badly maintained. Then, we found one that everyone likes. Before we turn in our deposit, we’re told that the landlord refused our application. It was quite frustrating. But we believe that the Lord will provide. That night we sleep on the floor in one of the classrooms at Shepherd Community Church (SCGC).



Early next morning, a church coworker came and knocked on our door. There is good news. When we went to the real estate company, we met the landlord and her best friend. Listening to their conversion was quite interesting. Her best friend spent most of her time convincing the landlord on our behalf. We later learned that she is a Christian. The real estate agent later told me about her conversion with the landlord last night. She said that finding a great tenant is better than getting a high rental fee. So the landlord finally decided to accept our application. She returned the deposit of HK2000 to the previous applicant. She also paid an additional amount of HK2000 to their real estate company. When you have faith in God, miracle happens.



After we signed our tenant agreement, we moved right in to our two bedroom one bath apartment. It was a charming, fully renovated, bright and clean 300 square feet flat. It is in a great location right near our missionary training center and our daughter’s kindergarten. Utilities, telephone, and internet were ready for use on the same day. The coworkers of SCGC are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us find free refrigerator, cell phone, and some furnishing.



We thank the Lord for such a memorable experience during our first four days in Hong Kong. We experienced God’s love expressed through the body of Christ, His faithfulness, and the blessing of your prayer.
