Darlene and Angeline love doing chores. They are always interested in sweeping the floor, washing dishes, cooking, and folding clothing. Whenever I am preparing for a meal or baking goods in the kitchen, they always want to help. If I don’t allow them to help, they wouldn’t mind grab a chair and stand next to me just to take a good look.
In the past we didn’t allow Darlene to help wash dishes because of her dermatitis. Two days ago, Darlene wanted to help wash dishes. We allow her to help rinse the dishes, but no dish washing detergent. This special task became a privilege to her.
Today after dinner, Darlene asked to help rinse dishes. Angeline also wanted to try. She was so curious to find out what Darlene was so interested in.
Two girls want to rinse dishes? There’s trouble ahead.
I told Angeline: “Darlene help rinse and you help put everything on the rack.” She seems content with this special task!
Angeline said to me, “When I’m older, I will prepare lots of delicious food for you to eat.” “Darlene will take care of Dad. I will take care of you!”
Perhaps this is another kind of blessing. Two girls could help us around the house. They often play cute or give us sweet talk. No wonder Kent like daughters. Daughters are closer to parents’ heart.
